Our Services
Careers with Purpose
At Optimal Support, our work is about helping people live fuller, more independent lives within their communities.
We support individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, older adults, and people with complex needs to build confidence, develop life skills, and stay connected to the world around them.
Our approach is empowerment-led, relationship-driven, and focused on real, lasting outcomes. Every day our team helps people take meaningful steps towards greater independence and wellbeing.
If you’re looking for a role where your work genuinely matters and where you can make a positive difference in people’s lives, you’re in the right place.
Why Work With Us?
We are a community-based outreach service operating in Stockport and expanding across Greater Manchester.
Our approach is different from many traditional providers.
We focus on supporting people to build confidence, develop independence, and take part in their communities.
Our team does not provide personal care or administer medication. Instead, we focus on meaningful support that helps people grow, connect, and achieve their goals.
This means our work is:
• Relationship-focused
• Community-based
• Independence-led
• Built around long-term positive outcomes
You’ll have the opportunity to build genuine connections and see the real impact of your work in people’s lives.
The People We Support
Our team works alongside individuals with:
• Learning disabilities
• Autism
• Mental health needs
• Older adults who benefit from community support
• Individuals with complex needs
Our support takes place in the community — helping people build routines, develop skills, access opportunities, and feel more connected to the world around them.
About The Role
As a Community Support Worker, you’ll play an important role in supporting people to live more independently and confidently.
Your role may include:
• Supporting individuals to access the community such as activities, appointments, and social opportunities
• Encouraging independence and everyday life skills
• Reducing social isolation and helping people stay connected
• Promoting positive mental wellbeing
• Supporting individuals to work towards personal goals
• Being a consistent, trusted presence in someone’s life
You’ll typically work one-to-one or in small community settings, helping people build confidence, structure, and meaningful routines.
What We Offer
We want our team to feel valued, supported, and able to grow.
Working with Optimal Support means you’ll benefit from:
• Full-time, part-time, and flexible working options
• Hybrid-style flexibility depending on support plans
• Ongoing training and development opportunities
• Clear progression pathways as the organisation grows
• A supportive and approachable leadership team
• The opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives
We are currently recruiting in Stockport, with expansion across Greater Manchester underway.
Who We're looking for
Qualifications are welcome, but they are not the most important thing to us.
We are looking for people with the right values and mindset.
You may be a great fit if you are:
• Compassionate and patient
• Emotionally intelligent
• Calm under pressure
• Reliable and consistent
• A strong communicator
• Passionate about inclusion and equality
Experience in support work can be helpful, but life experience, empathy, and the right attitude matter just as much.
Could this be the right role for you?
Do you have empathy, compassion, and strong communication skills?
Are you adaptable, open-minded, and able to approach challenges with respect and understanding?
